Gwinnett County Georgia Genealogy

Gilbert/Strickland Families

Here is what I know about these two families:

William Gilbert was born in Virginia in 1753.
He married Tamar Strickland in 1785.
Tamar was the daughter of Jacob Strickland II and Priscilla Young. She was born October 13, 1768 in North Carolina and died in 1804 at the age of 35 in Franklin County, Georgia. They had the following children:

William Fleming Gilbert married Drusilla Canady in Atlanta, Georgia in 1837. (I think this is one of William and Tamar's children - this is where the information that I had gotten from my sister got a little confusing).

Isaac Gilbert was born in 1790 and died 1863. Married Elizabeth Allbright in 1813. I know they had a daughter, Eliza Ann Gilbert, born in 1830.

Nancy Gilbert was born about 1788 in Danielsville, Georgia. Married a ----- Welch.

The only other thing I know about the original William Gilbert is that his name appears in the list of Georgia Revolutionary soldiers, and for his service received bounty land. He died in Gwinnett County at the age of 76 in 1830.

Hope this helps you to help me with any information about any of these people. I am trying to make a link between my grandfather, who was John Fleming Gilbert and one of William and Tamar's children. I would also like to know more about William Gilbert (I) who was born in Virginia, who were his parents, where did they come from, etc.
